VOLKSWAGEN GOLF MEDIA LAUNCH
How do you re-introduce a legendary car model with 26 million sold worldwide? Volkswagen turned to AE to produce an automotive and lifestyle media event for the sixth-generation Golf that would excite journalists and in turn, consumers. AE worked with Volkswagen to plan and execute a media trip to Germany for a three-city, behind-the-scenes look at the company. Highlights included a never-before executed private dinner at the Wolfsburg Castle and a chance to get behind the wheel of the new Golf on the Autobahn. Planning an international press trip is quite an undertaking, but AE pulled it off seamlessly, handling pre-event registration and communication, event logistics as well as food and beverage management. Nearly 1/3 of the participants were North American Car of the Year jurors, and if the reviews that resulted from the trip to Germany are any indication, the Golf could be adding another award to the Volkswagen mantle.
